DO NOT FORCE FILIPINOS TO WORK DURING NATURAL CALAMITIES

Please help all Filipino employees especially the ones working in the Business Process Outsourcing (call centre) industries to protect and keep themselves safe and their families. The private companies running these call centres are forcing Filipinos to work even in the midst of a natural calamity.

Your signature will give awareness to companies like Telstra, Virgin Blue, Optus and other Australian companies who use the Philippines call centres.

This is for basic HUMAN RIGHTS!! This is for respecting human lives - no matter how big or small.

We should all ask for proper worker's policies and working standards during disasters for these companies.

I work in a BPO company and my place of residence was one of the affected areas when 80% of MM was flooded. However, my company has a heart and did not force us to go to work. Unlike these other companies. If they only knew what most, if not all, of their employees went through. Tsk!

Private companies, whether domestic or foreign-owned, have to abide by orders from the US government, especially when related to public health and safety. How arrogant of Teleperformance and Teletech to ignore the orders of the Philippine government and to force its Filipino employees to risk their lives just because the companies they work for are foreign-owned (US). Shame on you !!!
