Legalise cannabis for medicinal and recreational use

There are over 150,000 regular cannabis users in Ireland from all strata of society. Why are these people subjected to such scorn and frown within Irish society? The proven ineffective, draconian cannabis drug laws that Irish people are being persecuted under, must end. The decision and policy makers in Irish society know very little about cannabis and its beneficial remedies. Many of our political, educational and health professionals are ignorant of the true facts regarding cannabis as a medicine and as a recreational drug. Their fears and misconceptions are founded on 1930’s corporate and political propaganda that demonised cannabis and its effects on humans.

Cannabis is a proven and recognised medicine through out the world and its compounds treat many illnesses such as Cancer, Epilepsy, AIDS, MS, Parkinson’s, Arthritis and Glaucoma. The drug is a non toxic substance and no one has ever died from a cannabis overdose.

A regulated cannabis market will,

• Create thousands of environmentally friendly jobs
• Generate 100’s of millions in tax revenue.
• Eliminate the profits made by criminal gangs

Many countries around the world will soon create their own regulated cannabis markets. Ireland, to be in the game, ahead of the inevitable world decriminalisation must act fast. Now is the time.

I urge you to explore and investigate the facts surrounding cannabis and ask that you consider voting YES to the Cannabis Regulation Bill 2013

It is the best direction to take after the failed and defeated “War on Drugs”

I believe there is strong enough evidence to readdress the current cannabis laws in Ireland. The proven medical uses alone for this plant should be enough of an incentive to legalise, as well as huge tax revenue generated and savings with both the prison service and the Gardai

Thousands of people and familys could be helped from its medical properties and the plant in itself has thousands of uses alone away from medicine which before the prohibition brought on by the United nations by false information brough fourth by the US government was used all across the globe and its uses are tried n tested and economically it grows from the ground enough said on that ;)

taxation stands to help country greatly and people should not have to risk criminal reprecussions for possesing a harmless natural plant.
