To the Chief Executive Officer, Mayor and Councillors of the Tablelands Regional Council, we, the undersigned, object to the location of the proposed Mt Emerald Wind Farm, on the following grounds:
1. Economic impact on agri-businesses
2. Noise, including health issues
3. Visual impact, including red flashing lights
4. Local environmental impacts
5. Too close to residents

The tableland should not be an industrial site for public monies going to a Thai power company, and destroying our wildlife, birds, farms and lifestyles.

I have visited the area under threat several times during two holidays that I spent in Australia living with my brother. If wind factories are constructed as proposed, they will cause immense damage to tourism, to the environment and to the ecology of the area. The amount of energy that would be produced would be minimal and variable. It has been proved in other countries that there is virtually no saving in carbon emissions and the only effect would be to increase energy costs. Please do not allow this wanton destruction of your wonderful country.
