Dharun Ravi should be exonerated

    2. Petition by

      Ahana Sarkar

      Saratoga, CA

This petition is a response to the news that Dharun Ravi was found guilty of bias intimidation, invasion of privacy, hindering apprehension and witness tampering. As a result of these convictions, he may face significant time in jail and possible deportation (despite the fact that he has spent nearly his entire life in the United States and is as culturally American as any American from a first generation immigrant family).I believe Dharun Ravi is not a criminal. I believe Dharun Ravi is a victim. I believe Dharun Ravi's life is being destroyed to serve political purposes. Thank you for your support.

Rapists and drug runners are allowed out free and this kid is being sacrificed to appease the media.

I would think being expelled from that school, but not jail. He didn't kill anyone.

I strongly believe Ravi is innocent and not a criminal. For Ravi's mistake, US justice department might consider corrective work with counselling than put punishing with significant time in jail

A small mistake made by Dharun Ravi has been made into an unreasonably enormous one. It is like doing a surgery for a paper cut. A young man has been put through enormous intimidation by the media and justice system. I believe Dharun is the main victim here - he is paying for others mistake and is being made into a scapegoat. MB should have known better not to enter Dharun's room with immoral intents. I do not believe in age of consent laws. Of the three people involved, MB is the oldest and he had the power to stop this whole nonsense - why sneak into an university dorm while there are lot of cheap motels .around for this cheap intentions.
