If WPFW can't get rid of John Hughes immediately & change the leadership/direction of Pacifica National so that someone like MR J.H. & clear channel/Koch brothers no longer dominate Pacifica management & control---then WPFW will die for lack of listener support. Should WPFW survive this untenable dilemma, it will be as a vassal. WPFW will either die or exist as a CPB/NPR affiliate. Visit GCPWEB.org for access to independent & alternative media WPFW listeners. At this point our beloved station has a short future at best!!! - Deaver

Music,Music, Music not head banging "sounds", not vulgar rap, no disgusting vulgar DJ's. I can proudly let my grandchildren listen to this station without fear of them picking up nasty language. Because of WPFW, they are exposed to the best variations of music and history. They are learning about FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

I have been listening to WPFW for 22 years. I discovered it one day flipping through radio channels when I was missing KPFA Pacifica radio in California where I'm from. WPFW not only takes care of my jazz fix it has always served as a tie to 'back home'. WPFW programming changes were like cruel and unusual punishment. The volunteer staff gave their all; rain, sleet or snow...they were there providing a public service with news, commentary and music many would never hear otherwise, keeping jazz alive. If WPFW could set up some kind of satellite operations temporarily from someone's home for awhile, I'd offer up mine!
