Stop harrassment and bullying of trans & gender non-conforming kids

LGBT kids are being harassed, on a daily basis, in schools all over the US. Statistics show that suicide is increasing among LGBT-identified school kids as a result of peer to peer harassment. This has to stop. Bullying is not acceptable under any circumstances; calling these kids a "distraction" for just being themselves is blaming the victim .We need to stop the violence, abuse and stigma around LGBT in our schools. Please make your voice heard. Sign the petition and forward it to all LGBT individuals, friends, families and allies. We need to stand strong against this kind of thinking. The problem is not LGBT identification, the problem is bullying is seen as acceptable. We need our school systems to teach kids that diversity is the human experience and that violence, abuse and stigma are not acceptable.

This would limit the expression of impressionable kids and who decides what is wrong and right for a human being to wear? The problem here is the bullies, this issue can be solved with teaching kids to be respectful and open minded- a much better solution.

We need to stop this. Students should be allowed to talk about their homosexuality rather than having to hide their identities, emotions, and feelings. This is the VERY reason that there are so many suicides amongst young LGBTQI boys and girls.

Because this proposed change does not address the actual problem...the bullies. If not this then they will find something else to go after. This does nothing to stop or deter the bullies....and will most likely encourange them to attack even more and wider demographics.

People should allow other people to be who they are. Bullying is fear. It should not be encouraged.
