‎We the undersigned wish to express our support for the retention of part time practitioner tutors at the University of Strathclyde Department of Architecture. These tutors expertly teach and foster knowledge exchange, inject enthusiasm and teach up to date innovation, and technology in the field of architecture and engineering. They contribute a wealth and dynamic to the school, which would be much disadvantaged without their input.

Qualified professionals as tutors are invaluable to how the course work, without them, not only significant crucial knowledge and skill would be lost, but I am sure a lot of enthusiasm for the course as well.

An essential part to architectural teaching and learning, tutoring from practicing architects must continue at Strathclyde. This short-sighted move could mean an end to the high standard of graduates that the University of Strathclyde's School of Architecture is known for.

An essential overlap between study, teaching and practice. The university governing bodies seem to have little notion of either the value of this overlap or indeed how good value part-time tutors are as a way of securing it.
