Stop uprooting Palestinian Trees

Uprooting trees is one of the many strategies the Israeli government uses to weaken the spirit of Palestinians peacefully living on their land. Sign this petition to show your support that uprooting these trees is not ok for the following reasons:

1. There is no logical reason for why the Israeli Defence Force needs to uproot these trees.
2. Agriculture is one of the few remaining ways of how Palestinians put bread and butter on their table. By destroying these trees the IDF is abusing their basic human rights.
3. These trees are owned, planted and cared for by Palestinians on their own land. They are not stolen, they do not harm anyone, and they are not on Israeli owned land. Ask yourself why then do these trees need to be uprooted?

Please sign this petition so we can show the Israeli government that the outside world cares about the atrocities they think they are secretly committing.

      Hi Everyone,

IWPS made a decision to keep the petition open for a little while longer to ensure we maintain pressure on our targets. IWPS is also continuing to liaise with other organisations to ensure we can collectively pick up this story (one of many affecting Palestinians) and strengthen our voices.

      Please keep sharing.

The IWPS team made contact with Greenpeace as surely this is an issue that would concern such an organisation. However Greenpeace UK have responded to say they will only get involved on the request of Greenpeace Israel. IWPS has also received a response from Greenpeace Canada who have simply wished us best of luck with our petition.

      Hi All,

This journey begins. An IWPS member is now camped on the farming site with other activists in preparation for what is to come. We have received news from our colleague that the farmers have attempted the legal route to ensure a stop is put to the uprooting of these trees, however they have been told their case is too 'weak'.

We will endeavour to keep you posted.

      Dear Signatories,

Thank you for signing a petition of great importance to the people of Dier Istiya. We have reached our 1000 mark for signatures. This shows that 1000 people from all around the world care about this issue.
I thought you all might like to see one of the residents of the village who was aired on British TV last year. Rizik is one of the farmers who will be affected if these trees are uprooted. Link to video attached.
Now it is a battle for us to be heard. Every signature has meant that an email has gone to the Israeli Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Minister of Environment and to the Ambassadors for USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in Israel. Let's get this story on air. You can help by being a promoter and telling people about this story. On the day some Palestinians and activists intend to chain themselves to the trees. IWPS will have a team member on the ground and we will endeavour to keep you posted.

These trees are symbolic of the 'roots' the Palestinian people have in their homeland. They are important for the environment as well as agriculture. Furthermore, there is NO reason to destroy the trees!
