Rodolfo Mendez escaped to the United States from Guatemala when he was 18 years old, after he came to the us he found out his father was  poisoned and killed. Rodolfo was threatened with death if he didn't join a guerilla that wanted to recruit him, and members told him that if he returned to Guatemala, he would be killed.

Since then, Rodolfo has lived in the U.S. for more than 17 years and is married to a U.S. citizen. His wife suffers from several serious health conditions, and depends on Rodolfo's care and financial support. Rodolfo is also a loving stepfather to his son, a hardworker, and has never had any criminal charges.

Rodolfo is an active member of the Lighthouse Word of Life Ministry and a volunteer who regularly feeds the homeless and volunteers time to repair the church.

Sign the petition to keep this husband and father home with the family he loves.

Seventeen years after fleeing to the US to escape civil war in Guatemala, Rudolfo Mendez is fighting to avoid being deported from his home in North Carolina.

Now the 35-year-old hopes to qualify for an exemption that will allow him to remain in the US, a hope he shares with 300,000 other people whose pending deportation cases will soon...

He has been her for 17 years. I'm pretty sure he deserves to stay here, until he chooses to leave, if he would ever want to!

Its okay for OBAMAS Kenyan born uncle that was here on a visa & then told to leave back in the 60's when it expired. He never left the US & has been running a business here ever since. He just was granted by a judge that its okay for him to stay in the US perminantly. Why is this okay for people with HIGHER UP STATUS in the US but not for others? Makes me sick!
