Homophobia or any discrimination of any kind has no place within a modern, civilised world let alone in Australian Politics.

Telling an online forum run by the Catholic Church that a true union only occurs in heterosexual vaginal intercourse and that homosexual unions must be seen as destructive behaviours to be actively discouraged is something that should not be tolerated by anyone.

"They are addicted to these behaviours which are harmful. As a heroin addict is addicted to a behaviour that is harmful and keeps on doing it. It's exactly the same." Philip Pocock. Statements such as these shall not be tolerated by Australians who stand for equality for all men and women no matter their skin colour, race, religion or financial status.

Love is Love and no one has the right to discriminate on love.

Discrimination based on sexual orientation in the future will be looked down on with the same disgust and contempt that interracial marriage discrimination is now.

I look forward to the day when all Australians can be married independent of sexual orientation.

the arguments in parliament to repeal marriage equality legislation were filled with homophobic misconceptions and stereotypical statements and attitudes similar to the 19 fifty's .... australia runs the real risk, along with ibs treatment of the indigenous communities, and it poor record on asylum seekers, as being seen as I global backwater on any issue concerning human rights.

These people do not understand the difference between personal opinion and representing their constituency.

I'm asked why this is important to me, where do I begin. Ask yourself why it is important to prevent racisal discrimination, religious discrimination ANY discrimination and marginalization and you the answer. How is a homophobic any different from a sexist or a racist? and yet we have laws that protect people from this kind of discrimination. I am human first before gender, race, culture or belief/non/belief, be kind don't be an idiot.
