Stop federal attacks on medical cannabis patients!

My name is Mary Elizabeth Davis.

I am a retired licensed vocational nurse with severe osteoarthritis and need to have both my knees replaced. All the pharmaceutical medications I have been prescribed have caused side effects including: additional pain, vision problems, nausea and blood clots.

My doctor eventually recommended I try medical cannabis, and I found Berkeley Patients Group, a not-for-profit medical cannabis collective, that has successfully treated me where pharmaceuticals failed.

On May 1st, after operating for over 12 years without incident and with full local support, the Federal Government forced Berkeley Patients Group to close its doors by threatening its landlord with property forfeiture and decades in prison.

Today I am speaking not only for myself, but in the name of millions of patients, here in the United States, who like me, have been denied access to medical cannabis and been thrown to the street with no alternative.

President Obama promised at the beginning of his administration to respect state medical marijuana laws. He has broken this promise time and time again -- and the consequences have been devastating.

Tell President Obama and the Justice Department: enough is enough. Keep your campaign promise, and stop the attacks on medical cannabis patients!

To hell with the US Government and its anti-medical marijuana views and renderment! I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome and medical marijuana is said to benefit people with gastrointestinal problems, like my own! Prescription drugs don't do shit! I need real medicine, so please legalize medical marijuana, at least, today! It's very hypocritical to have laws against medical cannabis smokers and have no laws against cigarette/cigar/meth/heroin/crack/pot smokers!

Just because cannabis is not mad made & doesn't heavily line the pockets of drug companies, is not a reason to react so harshly

mmj is very crucial for the patients that use it. the feds need to stop harrassing citizens and get on board. this is purely harassment for monetary reasons.

Marijuana was illegitimately placed on the Class 1 Schedule of drugs in the first place; it is time it was removed!
