Stop bullying

I'm asking you to  SHARE THIS IF YOUR AGAINST BULLYING!!! On April 9th 2012, my 12 year old son tried to hang himself after being physically attacked by a bully. This was a concern to me when I was in school and is becoming more of an issue as the years go by. We have lost so many children because the teachers ignore them, or they don't give them enough information on how to handle the issue. It breaks my heart to see so many children either killing themselves or others because noone wants to take this issue seriously. If adults are held accountable for harrassment as well as assault,  our children should be handled the same way, not left to think it's ok, that they are just being kids.

    4. Rachel Ehmke's Story

Rachel Ehmke, a 13-year-old seventh grader in Mantorville, Minn., died April 29 after hanging herself at her home. The months leading up to the tragedy were a whirlwind of peer abuse instances, her parents say.

Now following Rachel's Friday funeral that was met with widespread community condolences, Rick and Mary Ehmke are speaking out against the bullying they say their daughter endured at Kasson/Mantorville Middle School and online.

Rachel's family and friends say the teen fell victim to school bullying last fall when her chewing gum was stuck to her textbooks and the word "slut" was scrawled across her gym locker, the Austin Daily Herald reports. And while she was outgoing, athletic and friendly, the same group of girls reportedly threatened Rachel and kept calling her a "prostitute," though she had never kissed a boy, according to KMSP.

Two days before Rachel's death, an anonymous text was sent to other students at the school, KARE reports.

      "It was pretty explicit.

    5. Ty Smalley's Story

Since 11-year-old Ty Smalley committed suicide in May, his father Kirk Smalley has vowed to fight bullying every chance he gets.

"I have a pretty big purpose in life right now," Kirk Smalley says. "I'm not going to stop. I'll fight bullying wherever it's found. Schools. Workplace. I'm not going to quit until bullying does."

The younger Smalley killed himself after being suspended by his middle school in Oklahama for standing up to a bully.

Kirk pointed out in an interview with CNN (watch the full report below) that the bully can pick his time, but then a ruckus can take place, and the retaliator is typically the one who gets in trouble.

"He had been picked on pretty frequently," Kirk Smalley told CNN. "He was getting called names, and Ty was always pretty small for his age. He'd get shoved, pushed here and there."

The child finally stood up for himself, and fought back, but after he was suspended, Kirk says his son felt helpless and made the decision to end his life.

    6. Tyler Long's Story

On October 17th, 2009, 17-year-old Tyler Long had had enough. After years of alleged bullying at the hands of classmates in his Murray County, Ga., school system, Tyler had gone from a fun-loving child to what his parents say was just a shell of the boy they once knew.
"They took his pride from him," said his father, David Long. "He was a hollow person."

Tyler had Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism that his parents say left him with unique personality traits unpopular with his classmates. His mother, Tina Long, said Tyler was very rule oriented as a result of Asperger's and frequently reminded his classmates of the regulations they were violating.

"If someone was talking in class, I know that he would say, 'You know we're not supposed to be talking. That's the rule,'" Tina said.

The words spoken by a young Ohio woman are haunting. She had sent nude pictures of herself to a boyfriend. When they broke up, he sent them to other high school girls. The girls were harassing her, calling her a slut and a whore. She was miserable and depressed, afraid even to go to school.

And now Jesse Logan was going on a Cincinnati television station to tell her story. Her purpose was simple: “I just want to make sure no one else will have to go through this again.”

The interview was in May 2008. Two months later, Jessica Logan hanged herself in her bedroom. She was 18.

    8. Matt Epling's Story

One of the happiest days of our lives was the day Matt was born. Matt was a talented and giving young man who will be greatly missed by his many friends and family members. His creativity lives on through his writing, poetry, art, use of drama and his quirky sense of humor. Matt was on both the Citizenship and Honor Rolls at MacDonald Middle School. He was voted by his eighth grade classmates to have the best smile, the best personality, and most likely to become an actor. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent countless hours practicing stunts and tricks on his bike on a ramp he built in front of his house.

On Matt's last day of Eighth grade he was assaulted by upperclassmen as part of a high school "Welcome to High School" Hazing. Although this was an Assault and Battery, little was done at the time to those who perpetrated the crime.

Roughly forty days later, the night before we were to go to the police to begin formal charges, Matt ended his life. Perhaps because of what happened and

    9. See THIS IS EXACTLY MY POINT!!! Brooklyn Teen Blinded By Bullies

Bandaged, his mother beside him in tears, Kardin Ulysse told the press he'd lost all sight in his right eye. He’d been viciously attacked by bullies at Mann Junior High in Brooklyn.

It happened in the cafeteria around 8 am. After trying desperately to escape his attackers, 14-year-old Kardin was pinned down and repeatedly kicked and punched by two students shouting homophobic insults.

Kardin, his parents, previous attacks and even a DOE survey all warned that Mann had a serious bullying problem. Still Kardin was not protected.

The DOE says two students were arrested - that “the attack was taken very seriously.” So Mann knows how to identify bullying. It knows how to punish it. But it should have prevented it. Teens’ brains are not developed enough for them to always make responsible decisions; it’s up to adults to stop bullying.

Please people, I cannot stress the emergency of this matter enough! This needs to stop, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is an young lady! Bullying is something that Cassi had to deal with for several years while attending middle school in her home time. Instead of letting it bring her down, she rose above it and became a voice for the ones that are too afraid to speak out.

Cassi is now an actor and talk show host for "Behind The Mask" for her site Global Voices Reaching Out. With a wide future ahead of her, she is taking it day by day, in hopes that she can touch as many people as she can on her way. With the site Global Voices Reaching Out, Cassi hopes to educate people in issues that reflect upon the youth of today, in hopes that they will better themselves for tomorrow.

Cassi and her mother Joni, have a site called Cyber Safety Teen Advocates (Empowering Parents to Protect What Matters Most). Together, they are reaching out to parents to help educate them in the dangers of the Internet and mobile phone texting. Teaching parents about the possibilities of their child becoming victims of Sextin

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose.

I have been bullied most of my life Im a freshmen in high school and I struggle with anorexia, bulimia, self harm, depression, and more. I have attempted suicide many times. People need to realize that words hurt. We all are different but thats a good thing. It breaks my heart when I read about another child killing themselves because they felt like no one was there for them and didn't think anyone would care. Please if you are ever thinking about taking your life talk to someone you trust or call 1-800-784-8433. You are loved and It gets better :)

This is a wide spread senseless epidemic that affects & ruins so many lives. Sadly it has been going on more than long enough!!! It is nothing short of a crime & should be treated as such, no matter of man, woman or child that participates in it. We as parents DEMAND that it be STOPPED!!!!!
