Representative Gipson,

Your recent posts on Facebook in opposition to Gay Marriage are derogatory, harmful, judgmental and outright threatening to the LGBT population. Quoting scripture in the bible that condones murdering homosexuals is a blatant act of harm and prejudice.

We request that you:
1. Publicly apologize, for the harm you have done to the LGBT people through your words and actions, and
2. Meet with Unity Mississippi and the Mississippi Safe Schools Coalition, to see for yourself the day-to-day struggles of LGBT people and especially LGBT youth when they are faced with hearing hurtful and derogatory messages from their elected representatives.

Quoting scripture in the good book should be a wonderful thing. You are using it for evil purposes, to hurt other human beings. These other people are completely your equal, and deserve equal treatment. I'm horrified that there are people in state politics such as you. Quoting Leviticus about homosexuals being put to death, then downplaying it later... You want the bible to be part of your political life? Then with what you've done, you should be recalled. I hope they drum you out of office.

As a native of Mississippi, I feel that our pride in my home state is diminished by the words, thoughts, and actions of this poor man. Please let's pray that he may search his judgmental soul to know the error of his hateful, homophobic ways!

This man quoted scripture saying that homosexuals should be put to death. This is hate speech. End of. A state representative should not be calling for the death of anybody. Outside the US this man would have been asked/pressurised into resigning already, apologising is the least he can do but he has even failed to do this.

I'm so tired of folks picking and choosing what passages to follow in the bible. Follow them all or don't follow them at all. I'm tied of these hypocrites. I bet Gipson is a closet case as my gaydar is ringing and those who speak out the loudest are often hiding something.........

I do NOT want you representing me.

Your ignorance, hate, and lack of respect for humanity makes you unfit for such an office.

Please show an ounce of integrity by Listening to your fellow citizens and renouncing your statements, as well as your legislating position.
