The risk of a fatality has increased due to the increase of heavy haulage vehicles from the farming, mining and rail road sectors. Current damages incurred to vehicle owners are continual broken windscreens and body damage.

    5. Minimal $ allocated for Perenjori side even less for Mullewa.

Spoken to Mullewa Shire, Nino Messina & Grant Woodhams office on the matter..... the Minister recently allocated a small amount of money to the roads, the bulk for improvements on the Perenjori side. The amount is not near enough to change the hazards. The shoulders of the road will be done on the Mullewa side until the funding runs out and Perenjori/Morawa will have the opportunity to upgrade slightly more.

My family and friends still live in this area and use this road daily. The increased traffic on this road with road trains from mining, farming, services vehicles, tourists (with caravans) sharing this road with school buses and the general public makes this road an accident just waiting to happen. I have always been amazed that there has never been one. I have had my heart in my mouth a few times when those back trailers of the oncoming road trains are swinging right across the road and you have nowhere to go as the truck is not moving off the bitumen. PLEASE MAKE THIS UPGRADE A PRIORITY.

Yesterday was driving from Morawa to work in Mullewa, in process of overtaking a truck, lost control of car, ended up on side of road in bushes. Main reason for this is because road is only single lane. VERY DANGEROUS for both trucks and cars using this road. NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED NOW.

I finished primary school 9 years ago at Morawa District High School and back then I would catch the school bus to and from school along the Wubin - Mullewa Rd (Mon - Fri twice a day). Even then I remember tourists and the like were going off the road when passing oncoming traffic flicking up rocks and facing all sorts of trouble. 9 years on and this road is as narrow as anything and facing even more traffic including all of our school buses taking not only my cousins, but all of the other "students" from our area + surrounding areas. All I can say is an accident is bound to happen any day now and I hope to God it is not a school bus!
