Stand in Solidarity with Ecuadoreans Demanding Justice from Chevron

    1. Petition by

      Rainforest Action Network

Watch this open letter to the United States from the communities in Ecuador devastated by oil giant Chevron's contamination in the Amazon, then please sign the petition. We're trying to get 30,000 signatures of people standing in solidarity with the Ecuadoreans affected by Chevron's reckless pursuit of profits, and hoping that at least 5,000 Change.org members can help us reach that goal.

Your signature will be delivered to Chevron's board members and management at the company's annual shareholder meeting on May 25th.

I'm standing in solidarity with the Ecuadoreans who continue to suffer the effects of Chevron’s toxic legacy. I call on Chevron to cease its efforts to evade accountability and clean up its contamination in the Ecuadorean Amazon.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

Chevron makes money hand over fist, yet when they destroy OUR environment, they run and hide behind their lawyers. Pay up Chevron! How do you sleep at night?

Why the stonewalling? This contamination is affecting peoples lives. It's time to do the right thing and clean up the mess.

Environmental and social costs must be an essential factor in computing the cost-benefit ratio for any utilization of a natural resource, especially oil.

Chevron/Texaco has been found guilty and should pay up.

US companies should be held to the same standards when operating abroad as when they are here at home. A giant oil spill like the one Chevron-Texaco caused in Ecuador would never be allowed in the US without a major cleanup effort. Chevron should have to pay to restore the health of nearby communities in Ecuador!
