Sandusky Central Catholic School forced its band and choir director to resign this week, shortly after officials learned he and his boyfriend recently became engaged to be married. Brian Panetta, who is in his fifth year of employment with the district, initially received a letter of termination Jan. 3, which stated he was fired for violating the moral and religious teachings of the Catholic Church.

If you are going to start demanding that no one who works for the Toledo diocese be without sin, you will be a very small diocese indeed! Loving someone in NOT a sin, but abusing kids is! Why not focus your efforts on priests who abuse children and leave a moral man who wants to marry the love of his life alone! Give him his job back you bigots! Or continue to show the world why no one should want to be a Christian. That would be very sad!

The Catholic church should be a beacon of tolerance and love, not discriminatory and cruel.

When the moral code of the Catholic Church applies across the board, it will then have a leg to stand on. As long as the moral code applies only to non-heterosexual individuals-- in violation of federal law-- the Church stands condemned of bigotry and hypocrisy. Become the faithful once again. Walk the walk as your Lord instructed you to do.

They should be ashamed of themselves. Firing a great choir director because he's gay? Get with the future!
