Sprint Slow data Speeds.

Many people have purchased expensive "high end" phones, only to realize that their data service is so slow and unreliable, that many features on their devices are unusable.

To add insult to injury, many people have incurred $10 "PREMIUM DATA" fees for the privilege of using these new devices.

The data issues are systemic, throughout Sprint's network, but Sprint refuses to acknowledge the problems.

This is why Sprint should retroactively suspend "premium data" fees until data rates match the data speeds, which they advertise.

    2. ETF NIGHTMARE!!!

      So, customer service waived my ETF. Assuming I returned the phone. In addition, my complaint with the FCC and BBB yeilded a letter waiving the ETF.

      So I mailed the phone, using their UPS return pack. Fortunately for me I kept the tracking number.

      After a month, I got a bill for $300. I called in and the Sprint rep immediately said that they had no record of receiving my phone. SHOCKER!!. I panicked, as I wasn't sure if I still had the tracking number. Luckily, I found it. With that number, the rep immediately confirmed that they did have it. What happened, were they hoping they could bluff their way into $300 bucks? If I didn't find that number, they were ready to charge me.

      So, the rep informs me that the fee will be taken off. 3 weeks later, I get a notice from a collections agency.

      I am on month 4 (att sim) and have no issues with my service. My data speed in consistently 2500k to 3000k. My bill is $50 per month all in. I would like slightly faster data, but 10x faster than sprint is very respectable.

    4. Straight Talk decimates my Sprint service

      I have been on Straight Talk for just over a month. The first month I tried the Tmobile sim card. I had consistant 2800kbps data speeds. This month I am trying the ATT sim. I have seen speeds that top 5500kbps. Needless to say I am happy with that compared to the 150kbps I was getting.

      Did I mention that i am paying 40 buck less a month?

    5. I have escaped Sprint

      After 10 months of complaints, they have waived the ETF. I have closed my account and moved over to a Galaxy Nexus, on Straight Talk service.

      The plan is $50 bucks per month all in unlimited everything. No contract. Saving about $40 bucks per month.

      I am currently using the Tmobile sim option. and getting 2.5 to 3.5 mbps download and 1.5mbps upload.

      Next month I am going to try the ATT option. I think that might put me over 5mbps.

      I am so happy. I will keep this up and continue to report on the other service.

      Well, apparently they have messed something up with the ICS Android update.

      Now 4g data tops out at about 800kbps.

      3g is whatever..... 50kbps...... 400kbps ...... 125kbps.....

      Filed a complaint with the FCC, BBB, and the California Atorney General.
      This petition is listed amongst the evidence for my complaint.
      Let's see what shakes out.

      Just spent 3 days in Palm Springs. What a joke. Barely a data connection. Thank god for free wifi at our hotel. Other than that..... Goose Eggs.

      I can't believe it, but the 3g data speeds are actually worse. It is almost unusable now. I think that I will be filing a report with the FCC and BBB

    10. Wife leaving sprint

      As of today, my wife is leaving sprint. She was not under contract and wanted an Iphone 4s, but I could not recommend to her that she should get it with sprint.

      My data speeds on 3g are still regularly below 100k and I am now considering filing a formal complaint with the fcc / attorney general.

      Regardless of promises and assurances, it appears that nothing is being done about increasing data speed in my area. 3g speeds in Hollywood are regularly still under 100kb per second.

      It appears that Sprint is above fulfilling their obligations to deliver what they promise.

      Apparently I am lucky and have one of the units, which also wont get a gps lock.

      I called sprint to just return the phone, but they say i now have to keep it, as I am outside the return window.

      Of course they have no obligation to supply a working product!!

      The rep did talk about how they actually only sell the service and that it was Samsung that really sells the phone.

      After getting a warning about "spamming" by Sprint moderator Will England. I agreed to not post any more links to this petition.

      I then proceeded to post his warning and my reply. My reply was not rude, but it did disagree with the premis that I was spamming.

      Shortly after that, they rejected that post and banned my profile.

      I guess I rubbed Will England the wrong way.

      In response to slow Sprint data, there is a interesting convergence. Currently, when customers call in to complain about data speeds, it seems that there just happens to always be an outage right where the customer is calling from.

      Strange how these coincidences unfold.

      This would seem to indicate that the **New** advertised 400kbps to 700kbps is just to close the gap on the actual delivered speed.

      Our Sprint Family of $ each have high end phones, we purchased these phones with the promise of 4Glte speeds in a month, It has now been 14 months, just got my first 4G signal which is slower than 3G. For all the extra money I have been paying for 14 months, Sprint's solution is wait for your contract to expire and cancel their service.

      Ive had my phone for a year now, had sprint for nearly 4 and I am fed up with my data being so slow. I am ready to switch providers and forget I ever even liked sprint
