According to The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, Crohn's disease is a chronic (ongoing) disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic disease of the colon, or large intestine. These two diseases are collectively called Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), not to be confused with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's mission is: To cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.

Please help this organization find a cure for these horrible, life-changing diseases. I myself have ulcerative colitis, and it and Crohn's disease affect approximately 1.4 million Americans. These illnesses can also put many at a higher risk for developing colorectal cancer than that of the general population. So please sign this petition and share it with everybody. I'm trying to reach my goal of 1,000 signatures by December 31st, so please, share this like crazy! Thank you for making a difference.

Because my son is a 4th generation IBD. I don't want to see my grandchildren be a 5th generation.
