Stop requiring yellow bags if garbage is transported outside of the town

Go Green Sanitation is the only carter on the North Fork that doesn't require yellow bags because they don't dump waste at the Southold Town Transfer Station. The town has stated publicly that they weren't concerned about yellow bags if the waste was transported out of the town. They've recently sought and were granted an injunction against Go Green Sanitation preventing them from collecting garbage that isn't in a Yellow Bag. We believe this is ridiculous, and the town should act immediately to ammend the town code. We never expected to have obtained over 200 signatures in under a day. You all are amazing. We have added Supervisor Russell's e-mail to our recipient list so that each time a new person signs our petition, it sends him an e-mail. Our voice can't be silenced and I thank you all for standing by me as I became the unexpected face of this fight. Please continue to share this petition and your comments on the SuffolkTime website articles. We've reached out to News 12, ABC 7 on your side, Congressman Tim Bishop and Senator Kenneth Lavalle. We're hoping to attract more attention to get this ridiculous situation resolved swiftly so we can collect your garbage and make Southold beautiful again. Have a wonderful weekend and we'll be in touch if you need us.

I have 2 reasons to sign this. 1) If a private business can remove garbage at a lesser rate than "local" services I should have the right to use them. 2) The town should be investigating their disposal methods and perhaps save the town monies.

The town has no right to extort the residents by forcing the purchase of their yellow bags when residents are not using the town transfer station.

Does the Town enforce this law on Fishers Island? It is part of the Town!
