Reggie Fils-Aime, president and COO of Nintendo of America, is very popular in the gaming world, and he shot to fame in E3 2004 with his opening line: "My name is Reggie. I'm about kickin' ass, I'm about takin' names, and we're about makin' games." His humorous quotes and theatrical antics have made him into a gaming celebrity.

Many Nintendo fans have pleaded for Reggie to be in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. games and he would be a unique and interesting character. His attacks could involve various Nintendo characters, items and controllers.

The Regginator himself has acknowledged that he is open to the idea of him being in the games, responding to a tweet by Twitter user @taco_belmont, but Masahiro Sakurai (the games' director) would first need to approve the new character.

Please sign this petition and help boost Sakurai and his team to go ahead with Reggie's inclusion in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U!

To raise awareness about this, please use the hashtag #ReggieForSmashBros on Facebook and Twitter, and Tweet to @Sora_Sakurai to let him know about this petition. Also Tweet to @NintendoOfAmerica, @NintendoEurope, and @NintendoUK; and post about this on Miiverse to prove to Nintendo that Reggie deserves a spot on the roster.

The petition is nearly halfway to its goal, and while we may not be able to get to 100K, let's try to get as many supporters as possible for the Regginator in Smash Bros! Make sure everyone knows about this by sharing the petition and tweeting #ReggieForSmashBros.

While we wait for the Regginator to be in Smash Bros, check out this extra-large pattern I made and scan the QR codes (in the Able Sisters' shop) to get Reggie into your New Leaf town.

    3. Reggie mentions petition at VGX 2013

At the VGX 2013 awards, Reggie mentioned this petition after showing Cranky Kong as a playable character in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. "Just keep voting up the petition", he said when Geoff Keighly asked about the requests to get him into Smash Bros.

I'm just overwhelmed by the support the petition got. I didn't think it would get this kind of momentum, but now that even Reggie's talking about it, it's all up to Sakurai now. Let's get enough support to get the Regginator playable in the upcoming games! SHARE!

    5. Reggie says Sakurai might consider adding him to Smash 4

During his #ImWithReggie takeover of Nintendo of America's Twitter account, Reggie revealed that if he becomes a playable character in the upcoming Smash Bros, his Final Smash would be "MY BODY IS READY SLAM".

More importantly, although it might have just been a joke, the Regginator said that Masahiro Sakurai might consider adding him to the game if this petition gets 100,000 signatures from fans.

That's our goal! There's a long way to go, but it's worth a shot if we want Reggie kickin' ass and takin' names in the next Smash Bros games. Don't forget to share the petition!

    6. Male Wii Fit Trainer confirmed for Smash 4, Reggie a possibility?

Today's official Smash Bros screenshot of the day, confirms that a male version of the Wii Fit Trainer is playable in Smash 4. It's very likely that he'll be an alternate costume for the female Trainer, so this adds the possibility of other characters being alt costumes, such as Dr Mario, a female Villager (Animal Crossing) and of course Reggie! This is certainly good news for us Reggie fans. Do you think Reggie should be one of Wii Fit Trainer's alt skins? Tweet with #ReggieForSmashBros

I got your email, I reworded it, I think this should be the new petition:

We want Nintendo to distribute Reggie's Mii (by amiibo or DLC) as a playable character with custom sound effects so he could still talk in his iconic voice and tell us that his body is ready for battle, and have the "My Body is Ready Slam" as his Final Smash and say his famous quotes such as "my body is ready".
