Social Security and Medicare At Risk: Stop Harsh Cuts

    1. Sponsored by

      Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee

At this moment, Speaker Boehner is crafting a deficit deal that would gut Medicare and Social Security, while slashing benefits for seniors and the middle class in order to make sure he protects tax breaks for millionaires.

This is unacceptable and House Democrats will not stand for this.

We need to show our strength on this issue with one, unified voice -- and time is critical. Take action right now and join House Democrats in declaring that Social Security and Medicare cuts are off the table.

Time is running short. If we don’t stand up against these radical cuts right away, decades of progress could be lost.

To:
Rep. John Boehner, Ohio-08
We must not balance the budget on the backs of seniors, women and people with disabilities.

Social Security and Medicare are vital programs that Americans pay into with the knowledge that they will receive the rightful services they are entitled to.

I join House Democrats in declaring that Social Security and Medicare cuts are off the table.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

I want to know why it is, that with most of the country suffering, the politicians don't take a pay cut? They make too much as it is for what they do and that's just in salary. IF YOU WANT TO CUT SOMETHING CUT YOUR SALARIES!!! How much does one really need to live on? It shouldn't take anymore that $100,000 at the most

I WORK FOR THE SALVATION ARMY WHO IS FUNDED 18 PERCENT BY OUR GOVERNMENT. WE HELP SENIOR RECEIVE HOT MEALS,WORK WITH TROUBLED TEENS,GIVE FOOD TO THE NEEDY,AMONG MANY OTHER HIGH IDEALS. TO STOP FUNDING SOCIAL SERVCIES LIKE THE SALVATION ARMY, AND THE RED CROSS WITH THE GROWING NUMBER OF POOR AND STARVING AMERICANS IS DISGUSTING AND REPREHENSIBLE.I SEE HOW SALVATION ARMY SAVES LIVES,REBUILDS THEM,--SOMEDAY YOU WILL BE A SENIOR IN NEED --AND YOU WON'T HAVE A POT TO PISS IN. STOP CUTTING BENFITS FOR SENIOR AND THEE WORKING MIDDLE CLASS WHO ARE THE BACKBONE OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY SO YOU CAN PROTECT THE RICH WHO FUND YOUR BILLS. YOU NEED TO REMEMBER THAT THE POOR ARE AMERICANS TOO.

This cut would be a detrimental blow to people who've worked very hard to add to funds and there are limited resources as it is. The type of message you're sending out to people is, we don't care about you. What's the point of putting in and working so hard if in the end we will not be taken care of?

I Karen Turner respectfully ask all members of Congress along with the leader of the USA (President Obama), to raise the taxes to the rich and not make any further changes to Medicare or Social Security.

As a dialysis patient I've already seen many medical cuts since January 2011. I am not getting the same quality of care as I did in the previous years. The cotton 4X4 to stop bleeding is no longer used when I am being cannulated because of the budget cuts.

To prevent our family members from taking their hard earned money out of the bank don't touch Medicare or Social Security.

Here is an idea: How about all members of Senate and Congress tossing aside their nice, tidy incomes and health insurance, 401k's, political perks and wealth status and TRY LIVING ON SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE for awhile!! Then see what they think! My dad is on $500 a month for disability and has Medicare--My mom lives on $1100 a month social security and has Medicare. They do not live together and both have medical problems--if Social Security and Medicare are cut then the burden of their medical costs falls on me...a single mom of three kids that I need to support too! Every single American has paid into those programs for years, not only cash, but blood, sweat and tears and now the powers that be are cutting it?? Really?? Well, then I guess the government needs to start returning all the money everyone has invested into their own retirement or figure out how to back it up since it's supposedly "bankrupt". Another idea, stop channeling U.S. money all over the world and start giving a damn about your own country!!
