Skelanimals, LLC: Help Bring Lolita's Plight To Light!

We’ve recently become aware of Skelanimals’ upcoming products based on the orca named Lolita. Lolita’s supporters think this is a great idea! The poem on the website does a good job of explaining her story — except it doesn’t mention the fact that it’s true! Lolita is a living, breathing orca who faces these very real hardships every day.

Skelanimals is in a great position to promote awareness and we’d love to see that happen. But unless one is already aware that Lolita is a captive orca being held at the Miami Seaquarium, there’s nothing to indicate her story is any more real than the rest of the Skelanimals’ tales.

A small nod from Skelanimals to let their consumers know that “Lolita” actually exists, and that her story is true, could go far in promoting public knowledge of Lolita’s (and other captive orcas’) plight. This will help bring awareness to her need for our support: her living conditions are criminally inadequate (her tank does not conform to the standards set forth by the Animal Welfare Act) and she is without contact with others of her species. She is a great candidate for retirement in a natural seapen!

Already, this petition shows that many people show their support for Lolita. With your help, these numbers could be even higher.

She was ripped away from her family, left alone, and put in a small bowl of a tank for mans amusement for 40+ years. Let her go! She does belong in a tank! Save what years she has left!
