For many tourists, accessing the Hill without a car is not feasible. The Hill provides four well-respected museums with world-class collections for all ages containing gems of the state and representing the heart of our heritage, history and diversity. Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, Museum of International Folk Art, Museum of Spanish Colonial Art, Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian.
As the creator of this petition, I am a fifth generation Spanish Colonial Artisan and without the encouragement, support and educational programs of these fine museums, my family would not be able to continue practicing these rare arts. The works of my great-great grandfather, my great grandfather and my grandmother stand as part of the collection of the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art. My work and the work of my brother is currently represented in the gift shop of the Museum. Income from sales of the gift shop and promotion of the collection allow me to continue to develop my apprenticeship as a Santera.
Please help us preserve and promote our very special regional story by adding Museum Hill to your current Shuttle stop destinations.
By being on the list of shuttle stops, it will send a clear message to visitors that Museum Hill is an important destination that we as locals value.
Thank you! ~Sean Wells y Delgado, fifth generation Spanish Colonial Artisan
