Shut Down Arpaio's Tent City

    1. Petition by

      Puente Arizona

      Phoenix, AZ

Sheriff Arpaio is not the 'toughest Sheriff' in America, he is the most inhumane. He refers to his outdoor prison that exposes inmates to the extreme heat and cold of desert weather as his own "concentration camp."

If you don't believe the quote above, you can watch the video caught by the makers of the new film Two Americans, here: http://bit.ly/arpaioup

The Puente Human Rights Movement and others are rallying for the tent city to be closed and for Arpaio to be brought to justice.  The Sheriff has long made his name known for implementing chain gangs and seeking to humiliate inmates by having them wear pink underwear.   The tent city he refers to is an outdoor prison where prisoners and those still awaiting trial are housed completely exposed to the 110+ degree summers and the freezing winters of the desert climate.

Most recently the Department of Justice concluded an investigation and sued the Sheriff for "the worst case of racial profiling" investigators had ever personally witnessed.

No one deserves the treatment inmates receive in Arpaio's prison. It's time for tent city to be shut down.

When one can even mention "concentration camp of my own" he should be put in there himself! Imagine the people who survived a concentration camp how they feel and see him as: another Hitler, does he not no how hurt those people are, reading these things. Further more, they are humans, not animals. He treats animals more better, you dont see them outside in these desert temperatures! Arrest him, let him stay in tent city for his duration and see how he really loves his concetration camp!

Arpaio deems himself an authority above the law. He's wrong. Our Constitution forbids cruel and unusual punishment. Arpaio must be held accountable to that highest legal standard.
