On March 31, 2012, 1 year old Pit Bull puppy Allie wondered into the yard of Stewart Bernard Smith, owner of Richmond Hill Locksmith. When Smith saw the dog he retrieved his shotgun to kill the dog. He proceeded to walk out his back door while as Allie stood harmlessly there, he proceeded to shoot her in the chest, fatally wounding her. When Animal Control arrived she was still alive suffering from the shotgun wound and had to be put down. We demand that justice be served and make sure that small town politics does not let this man get away with animal cruelty. No one has the right to shoot, hurt and/or kill an animal for being on their property without provocation.

The Savannah Pit Bull Parents group will make sure there is justice for Allie!

The Bryan County Sheriff's Department Investigator Mickey Sands has stated that "No charges have been filed; I m going to let them work this out among themselves They can file warrants on each other if they want. These dogs have a history of running loose, being aggressive, charging at people when they get out of their cars, backing them up".  However, the Howard have been citing with dog at large.

This is horrible to kill animal like this. I feel it is so unfair to shoot a dog when the dog is not abbressive trying to kill someone. Some people get thrills out of this horrible murder.

I am signing because it stand to reason that Mickey Sands and Stewart Smith are part of this damn "Good Ol Boy" system that seems to tear our communities apart. I hate Good Ol Boys with a passion. I can look in Richmond Hill Reflections and tell who the good ol boys are and it is pure sickening. If Mickey is using the Good Ol Boy system to keep from doing his damn job then he is what I despise even more: lazy investigators and lazy cops. This is coming from me as a former US Army CID Agent. In CID we were taught to be impartial and to ensure that a thorough investigation was conducted and all leads expended. If Mickey is a good ol boy then I am ten times better at investigations than he is. C'mon Mickey, show me what you got and prove me wrong about being lazy and not some good ol boy protecting your buddy.

I was always scarred of Pitbull dogs. Scarred of "how" they have been portrayed. I adopted a bulldog/mix puppy when he was 6 weeks old. Come to find out he is pit bull mix with bulldog. We have had Rosco for 3 years and he is the best dog I have EVER owned. He is loves our children (8,4,1) and they lay on him, play with him, sit near his food. IT IS THE WAY YOU RAISE THE BREED! This man should be shot for being a threat to society.

The accused deliberately sought a violent end when other intermediary means were available, such as calling the owner. It is unacceptable that such actions should not have consequences in a law-abiding community.
