Serato forums are ablaze with frustrated customers due to the abrupt and unwarranted end of future upgrade support for Allen & Heath XONE DX and Serato products. We understand products have a life cycle, but this is appalling. There are many of us willing to pay for a software upgrade long before we would pay to change our hardware.
The Xone DX is only two years old and one of the few possibilities that would make Serato ITCH work. Allen & Heath has stopped production of this product, but they certainly have not stopped continued updates for software. They are taking care of their customers by making sure that new computer operating systems will be fully functional with their discontinued product. Kudos to Allen & Heath.
There are Allen & Heath XONE DX controllers still being sold "NEW" all over the internet and retail stores with Serato's name on it. Some are being sold at full retail price to completely unsuspecting customers! Along with that, All Serato products require an expensive piece of hardware to make the software work. This type of "dongle" is unheard of in almost every software industry. Customers chose to spend their hard earned money with Serato, not Traktor, PCDJ, Virtual DJ or any of the numerous available dj softwares available, but Serato.
Serato ITCH is incomplete and still lacks in stability. If Serato executives believe that supporting this product is out of budget, they are alienating a portion of their customer base. This is instilling a fear into ALL Serato customers about the hardware they buy and what software they use. If this happened to XONE DX owners, it can happen to any Serato customers.
We are not asking for Serato DJ to work with the XONE, we are asking for a better ITCH. If Serato can't give us a better ITCH, then give us Serato DJ. Didn't ITCH customers help fund Serato DJ anyway? Wasn't it our feedback and investment into your company that helped provide development?
Do the right thing Serato. Reinstate ITCH development or allow ALL Serato ITCH controllers to work with Serato DJ, including the XONE DX.
