In the Family Courts across this country, Judges are making ill-informed custody and visitation decisions that violate the constitutional rights of women and children because of the lack of recognition and understanding of the dynamics of power and control in domestic violence, child abuse and sexual abuse. Consequently, children are being placed back into harm's way at the hands of their abuser. This phenomenon plagues family courts across the nation. It is so common it has come to be called "court imposed child abuse." Please take a stand for our children who deserve a life free of abuse, it is their basic human right!

This issue is so close to my heart, I really would like for my son to be in a safe home. This has to be so hard for the children, I'm doing everything I can to bring my baby home, he looks so tired when he does come home with bags under his eyes at two years old. Awareness is the key to getting these types of situations under control.

The family court system is part of an integrated legal system that is fundamentally flawed. As a social worker, I have heard many stories of citizens who have participated in our legal system seeking justice. Many of these individuals ended up being part of "court ordered" elder abuse, wife abuse or child abuse. In my own case, I was a legal abuse victim of all three.

Most abusers do not stop their behavior unless they either die or go to jail. Losing

custody of my children to their wealthy, well-connected father was only the beginning of almost two decades of more crimes being committed against my children, my father and mother and me.

I intend to continue to speak out against the victimization and re-victimization of the innocent members of my family as well as the citizens of the State of Washington who have also been victimized by the legal system. As Chair of the Washington State Protective Parents Association, I pledge to continue to speak out and advocate for the women, children and elders of our state who deserve nothing less than fair and just treatment by the judges, attorneys and other related court personnel who are involved in making that happen.

I went through this when my children were young. I fought tooth and nail to prevent him from having full access to the children. The courts need to learn that unless you get children away from their abusers they run the risk of becoming abusers when they grow up. Wake up legislators.

All children in the world are born with basic human rights. 191 of 193 countries of the world recognize children's human rights with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Only the USA and Somalia do not recognize children's basic human rights,

even though the USA helped to write it and have signed it; after 20 years we have failed to make it the law? Why do children who are in the USA have less than other children of the world?
