hold a ticker tape parade honoring the veterans of the Iraq war in NYC.

After eight years of American servicemen and women putting themselves in harm's way, risking their lives and serving honorably, it seems that the least New York City could do is give them a proper hero's welcome. Veterans of numerous other wars including the previous Gulf War and Vietnam have been honored in a similar fashion. This parade would be funded by private donations and taxpayer expense would be minimal. It's the right thing to do.

Our idiot Mayor Bloomberg is willing to pay for a Parade for Sports Teams but not Our Sons and Daughters who have sacrificed so much? I say they need a Parade!!!

We sleep safely in our homes while these heroes are overseas protecting us. They deserve nothing less than what we throw for a sports team that did well.

Our veterans deserve this honor. Too often we are made into political beings when considering celebrating the military and its members. Give us this chance to just thank them for what they do.
