Take a 1 quart plastic bottle, fill it with water, and put it in toliet tank. Everytime someone flushes in your household, you are saving 1 quart in water. 4 quarts = 1 gallon. If your household flushes 10 times a day, you will save 912.5 gallons of water each year.

This works great! It lowers my bill and saves water for the environment and so that other people may drink more fresh, safe clean water! (I didn't use a bottle of water- yuck- I would never purchase one, but I did use a brick.) Thanks! Hey, checkout this group the Blue Planet Run Foundation- they have a whole bunch of great ways to health save water and bring safe-drinking water to the areas of the world that lack clean water. Thanks! Liz.

We are building a new home with 3 toilets in it. So that multiplies the water savings even more. We are pretty disciplined with saving already as you know because we collect from the roof. So whether you are from the land of fun and sun or rain and sane, we will save!!!
