Historic buildings are a significant part of the rich history and character of Jefferson City and should be saved for future generations to enjoy.

Historic buildings are part of our heritage and a visual reminder of the generations that came before us. It is important that we do not tear down our past to replace it with new. We should keep our past, treasure it for the next generations. If we need a new facility, then we should build it elsewhere.

The architecture of historic Jefferson City is attractive and interesting. Driving around, the ugly modern buildings in the uptown/High Street/Capital Avenue/Main Street area distract from the lovely historic ambience of the Capital City. I have often thought that our city has been "raped" by "progress". I say, take down the modern buildings! Don't destroy ANY MORE of our historic buildings! Look at the success of Hermann, MO. And this is our Capital! Stop raping the city!

To destroy this building would be to eradicate another part of the fewer and fewer remaining historical structures defining the heritage of this city.

I grew up in Jefferson City and my family had been here for more than 100 years. When buildings are a part of the history of the town they help to tell your story to generations that follow. I think of some of the places that I grew up with that are gone forever and I don't understand why. Where's the beauty or history in an empty space?
