Spud is a loyal, happy family pet. He got out because he hadn't been neutered and a bitch down the road was in season. He was picked up by the dog warden and the authorities have decided that he is a banned breed and has to be destroyed. Spud has never shown any aggression to anybody. We are happy to have him neutered, chipped, tattooed, walk him on a lead and keep him muzzled outside, all precautions we deem unnecessary, but are happy to abide by restrictions to keep Spud living a happy and healthy family life with us. This at the current time does not seem enough. PLEASE sign our petition and help us save Spud! Thank you.
I've had quite a few people recently ask me about the petition, (which today 17th July 2012 topped 9000 signatures! Thank you SO much everyone! Keep sharing) Anyway, here's it's history: The petition was started before anything else on-line about Spud, originally it was for people who knew Spud to sign "just in case" we ended up going to court and I hoped it would just be something else I could take along with me that would speak for his character in their absence. We had the petition open for quite some time when a supporter we didn't personally know suggested we open a facebook page for Spud as Lennox had just been put to sleep and his story was very high profile. I thought it would help raise awareness and was a good idea, I opened this group last Thursday 12th July and a few days later a Twitter account (that I'm still learning to use!) and since then our signatures have gone from just over 300 to over 9000!! WOW! We have 2,570 members (and still climbing consistently) and 197 Twitter followers, response and support has been completely mind blowing! I'm still trying to catch up! Thank you ALL so much!
