Save Our Schools by performing external audit and investigation over spending abuses and any other discrepancies

      Macon, GA

Whether you live in Macon, Atlanta, New York, London or Tokyo, we need your help. We are trying to save our school system, so please take a moment and sign this petition. Help a community fight back for sanity and accountabilty in our schools and board of education. Only with enough signatures and attention will we have the leverage to force the board to call for an outside investigation. We want transparency and accountability. Help us save our schools!

If you are wondering why you should sign this petition, click the links below. This is the superintendent we are dealing with as well as a rubber stamping board of education that work for him instead of the citizens as it should be. Our superintendent has spent nearly as much time travelling all over the country and even the world dining on gourmet meals, staying at luxury hotels, while our students lack basic needs lke toilet paper or books. He claims that no good ideas can come from Macon or even the state of Georgia and this is why he travels. Wasn't he supposed to come into his new job two years ago with outside ideas from day one? He left his job and the people of Rochester, MN in a mess and now he is trying to do the same here in Georgia. Good teachers are leaving in droves, morale is down, dsicipline is non-existant, and people are afraid to speak out. The citizens of this community have had enough. No more!

    1. Breaking Development over possible bid rigging

      Alan Wood
      Petition Organizer

Today a very disturbing story broke about some possible bid rigging to the tune of $2 million dollars to an Indian company called Wipro involved with refitting the lighting in the schools. If true this is a a serious antitrust violation and the U.S. Department of Justice needs to investigate these allegations.

    3. 400 reached but let's shoot for 1,000 signatures

Today with your support we hit the 400 mark. When I started this petition I didn't have an exact goal in mind, but obviously the more signatures the better. Much has changed in a short time with more obfuscation, more evasive answers from Mr. Barnes, and more stalling tactics for open record requests. Now more than ever it is clear that an independent audit from a firm not hand picked by Dallemand or the current Board of Education is needed. There are so many unanswered questions about the budget as well as past dubious spending. Dallemand is counting on an apathetic public so let's prove him wrong. This is our money and our kids we are are talking about and we need answers and accountability. If most of you can just recruit one or two more friends, we can easily reach 1,000 signatures. Hopefully we can reach that goal very quickly and send it off to Governor Deal and many others with the power to conduct an outside audit before the board elections. Thanks for your support!

    5. Why a second audit is needed

      Alan Wood
      Petition Organizer

Mr. Dallemand stated after the Monday night board meeting that no additional audit was needed since one had already been conducted. Let me explain why he is unequivocally wrong. First of all, the accounting firm was hand picked by Mr. Dallemand and given a very narrow and specific set of parameters. It is very evident that they were charged with a goal in mind before the audit ever began and had boundaries they dare not cross. We want a forensic audit to delve far more deeply into all facets of the school system budget and spending which includes Mr. Dallemand and his staff's expenditures. We also have serious questions about his spending in 2012 and the prior audit does not cover this time frame. An true external law enforcement, forensic audit will not have any parameters as to what they can or cannot investigate. They should be able to look into all facets of spending at ALL levels of the school system. Then and only then can the truth come out.

    6. 100 signatures reached! But we need more, let's shoot for at least 500

      Alan Wood

Thank you everyone for signing. 100 in only one day is very impressive. But, the more signatures the more impact and weight it will have. If all of you can recruit about 5 or more friends to sign we can easily reach 500. So please post it on your facebook wall, and tweet it as well if you use twitter since that can really take off quickly. Once we have a large enough number, not only will the governor get a copy, but so will the state superintendent, state senator, state reps, BOE, mayor, news media, and several more. They will hear our voices loud and clear! Prove to Dallemand and Barnes they were wrong when they said we are "only a few voices of discontent". I am confident if we can get an outside audit performed they will find a lot of waste and possibly fraud. So this is our chance to really speak out and let the whole state know that enough is enough! Please help spread the word and recruit 5 friends to sign. Thanks very much and stay tuned for more at the link below,

I am tired of the low morale as well as a system that puts the teachers as the lowest on the totem pole. Isn't the point for others to support our teachers so that they can provide the best education and care possible for our children? Great teachers are leaving in droves and the children are the ones who are suffering!

Because the students in Bibb County deserve adults who care enough about their education to model the behaviors that are expected of them. And hopefully get away from the do as I say, not as I do. The students of Bibb County deserve people who don't abuse their power, but use it to enrich the lives of the people in the community!!

I am no longer a resident of Bibb County, but was born, raised, and educated there (Central High Class of 1983). I am appaled at how bad things have gotten in the Bibb County BOE, and believe that immediate action needs to be taken.
