The public park is a place for hundreds of citizens a day to walk, jog, meditate, pray, breathe fresh air and view the city. Selling all or part of the mountain to a private investor would give up the freedom the park has allowed so many, and risk the demolition of the cross and/or the erection of other religious symbols. The park must remain public land, whatever the consequence.

To:
City of Riverside
Save Mt. Rubidoux!

Pease do not sell the land surrounding the cross, or give Mt. Rubidoux away. We do not want the landscape of our city decided by the highest bidder. We do not want our freedom of the mountain restricted by fences and signs. We want the mountain to remain a public space, a park for all to enjoy. Please do the right thing, and do not sell all or part of Mt. Rubidoux.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

The Cross IS RIVERSIDE!!! Without it, it would be just another town!!!! The Cross is SO IMPORTANT to all people who look up towards it. It stands for God and Country!!!!

I was born in Riverside and always remember that cross. When I travel through I hope to still see it.

Though it violates separation of church and state, it means a lot to the people of Riverside.

I love the cross and it's beauty and what it stands for. Leave it upon the mountain

it is a beautiful historical site which should be saved. please dont let it be destroyed for the sake of 'political correctness'. It has done no harm and many people have found hope and peace at the cross. all those who wish to take it down should just learn tolerance and ignore it as if it were simply the rocks which surround it. dont get all offensive. (ps. I love going and joining the thousands of others on easter morning who go to praise God together on mt rubidoux..I feel that taking away the cross would acually take away some of our religious freedom. it makes more sense to me that we learn to accept each others differences rather than try to make everone/thing equal and 'correct'.
