Save Money, Energy & Landfill Space: Limit your consumption of bottled water!

Consumption of bottled water is clogging our landfills and contrary to popular advertising, the great majority of bottled water is just filtered tap water (Aquafina and Dasani, for example). Only 12% of all plastic bottles are recycled in the United States... each day in the US more than 60 million plastic water bottles are thrown away. That's a lot of waste and just think of the energy used to create those plastic water bottles!

Even more, when you compare the price of a gallon of gasoline ($3) to bottled water ($21 a gallon)... that's a waste of your hard earned money!

Please purchase a Brita or Purr filtration system and help reverse this destructive consumption habit.

I have stopped drinking bottled water and saving energy. I want to make my place cleaner and safer for me and coming generations as well...People driving SUVs, CRVs, Hummer and Van make me feel sad. I dont know what is so important that they want to carry in their big vehicles and increasing pollution because of that...I am planning to even sell my Toyota Camry because I want a smart vehicle that is more fuel efficient. Plus I realized I don't need that big car. If for some reason I will need bigger car in future I will rent it for time required.

Bottled water doesn't really have any benefits that regular tap water doesn't also give you. I have a Brita water filter and it works amazing! 30 bucks and I get free water all the time that has been filtered instead of 1.29 a bottle. :)

How about not buying bottled water at all!
