Promise to leave separation of church and state at the federal level.

Ron Paul currently intends to drop the wall between church and state from the federal level to the state level. Our government as a whole must remain secular. This is a matter of civil liberty, and does not belong at the state level.

America is in the mess it is in today largely because of ignorance, this is no time to take a step in the wrong direction with our public schools or our justice system. We need progress in our education system; the protection of secularism is vital to this.

The constitution says "seperation of church and state" our rights should not be tampered with

I support you, Mr. Paul. But your stance on this issue is a major deterrent. Religion is not necessarily a bad thing. But you can't force it upon people as this would have it. I am an atheist living in a Bible-Belt southern baptist town. I see the minor crossings between the two that slip by in my school, and I do not like it. Freedom of religion (or lack thereof) is an essential right that cannot be alienated. If you truly are fighting for the people's freedom, do not allow this idea of conglomerated church and state continue. Thank you for your time, if you bother to read this. --Michael Pietrusiak--

There is no need for federal or state support of religion. Religion is a private thing, and has no place in public schools or public court. People of America have their right to religious freedom. I mean, this country was founded to escape religious persecution. By combining church and state, we are throwing all of that out of the window.

If Ron Paul would change his stance regarding the separation of church and state I would cast my vote in his favor. Dr. Paul is the only Republican candidate worth voting for, but as it stands his view on this subject will turn my vote for Obama. Thank you and good luck.
