Rona Ambrose: Resign as Minister for the Status of Women

    1. Petition by

      Beth Ryan

On September 26th 2012, Rona Ambrose, the Minister for the Status of Women voted in favour of a motion that could strip Canadian women of their right to security of person and the right to a safe and legal abortion.

Canadian women deserve a representative who knows women are more than their biological abilities; that those abilities should never be regulated by the government; and the only person capable of defining a woman's future is that woman.

You are not that representative.

We're asking you to resign from your post as Minister for the Status of Women immediately. You don't represent Canadian women and Canadian women deserve better than you.

    6. Conservative MP files yet ANOTHER Anti-Abortion motion!

Mark Warawa of Langley, B.C filed motion 408 yesterday which insidiously proclaims that "The House condemn discrimination against females occurring through sex-selective pregnancy termination."

But the House should condone discrimination against WOMEN occurring through government mandated pregnancy, right?

Sex selective abortions occur because of people like Rona Ambrose, Stephen Woodworth and Mark Warawa. These people perpetuate a culture that promotes the ideology that women shouldn't have the same rights as men. These people perpetuate a culture that consistently devalues a woman's worth and advocates for the government to curb her fundamental human rights.

Canadian women deserve a representative who will fight for our rights! Rona Ambrose needs to resign!

She is not defending Canadian women as a whole. We should have a choice and control of our bodies whether anyone else agrees with our decisions or not. I am Pro-Choice, they choice is up to each individual person and their circumstances, regardless if I could never have an abortion. I should not and will judge someone else. In some cases, abortion is the more suitable and right thing to do. I do not believe it should be allowed after 12 weeks, and I do not think more than 2 should be covered by our health care and I don't feel its OK to use it as a birth control method. I think there is ways to keep it if not regulate it better.

women deserve a champion, yet you would see them oppressed. please step down so someone morally qualified can step up and be that champion for us.

My body = my property = my choice......my government should reflect the same. Especially from a woman!!!
