stop the sale of tattoo equipment to the public/enforce illegal tattooing

      Foster, RI

with the sale of tattoo equipment to unlicensed, untrained individuals creates a health risk of the spread of hepatitis infection, scarring and a long list of diseases. There also needs to be enforcement of those who perform this practice without proper training/licensing.with little resources for the dept of health to combat such a problem they must appoint a individual to over see such enforcement or such laws will be nothing more then a piece of paper. It is the responsibility of Rhode Island Department of Health to protect the states general public from such illegal activity before they have a serious health issue, which will make the professionals doing it correctly look bad.

Illegal tattoo 'artists' have no legal imperative to refuse their services to minors, to refuse to apply face and hand tattoos, and no ethical framework to counsel 'clients' regarding their choices. The legal tattoo community maintains high standards and ethics through hard work and integrity and do not deserve to have illegal hacks undermining their efforts.

The sale of equipment to the unlicensed is a threat to the lively hood of working professionals who sought this profession through the proper channels and it comprises the safety of the public.
