Stop calling sex-trafficking survivors "Teen Prostitutes"

This is regarding the article published here http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/06/25/us-usa-prostitution-child-idUSBRE85O19H20120625.

Calling survivors of child-sex-trafficking "Teen Prostitutes" in your headlines or articles serves to re-victimize children who have been through too much already. This isn't about political-correctness, this is about debilitating shame that follows a child when people speak as if they had a choice. Reuters should think about what effect it's titles have on the subjects of their stories and on attitudes towards victims of horrific criminal abuse of children.

People are innocent until proven guilty. Assigning the title of prostitute before a judge has ruled it so is inappropriate.

By deifinition, sex with minors is rape even if they seem to be offering consent. These are rape surviviors. A prostitute who chooses to be a sex worker is something different. Even many of them are forced into this line of work. Words have power. Calling these kids sex-trafficking victims would help awareness as well as define the problem that needs to be solved.
