RESIGN, #Bloomberg!! #OWS Petition

How is Mayor Mike Bloomberg NOT a dictator? Case in point:

“The offered reasoning for the #OWS eviction? The same canard as the last time Bloomberg wanted to sweep away protesters: “public health and safety.” Never mind that Occupy Wall Street has continually cleaned the park itself, or that health experts who have visited the park have pronounced it sanitary, or that even Bloomberg could cite only one incident that threatened public safety in his statement about the eviction. No, such “facts” were turned away, just as the police sought to turn the media’s cameras elsewhere. All this while, as Matt Taibbi put it last week, “in the skyscrapers above the protests, anything goes.” Nobody arrested the bankers for pushing fraudulent loans and subprime mortgage investments, or the ratings agencies and government regulators that neglected their duties and helped Wall Street crash the global economy. But putting tents in a public park? Time to bring out the batons and pepper spray.”

I set the original goal at 100,000 signatures because it felt like an adequate "fuck you" to a mayor that would destroyed a library. BUT, in the interest of modest reality, 10,000 sigs is a hefty fuck you, too. SO, 10,000 it is. Rock on! #ResignBloomberg!!!

Protesters say that despite police assurances, many of their belongings are missing after the NYC raid.

BUT #OWS needed help transporting books from Bloomberg’s garbage pail. I blasted their announcement across Social Media and briefly considered bundling myself up, heading out to haul books despite the fever I’ve been running—on and off, weird—for days. My buckling knees and general weakness prevailed; I stayed in bed and read reports of what #OWS found at the garbage man: a fraction of #ThePeoplesLibrary collection, a few boxes, 25 boxes of damaged books—the rest of the 5,000 books, missing or destroyed. I cried. I shivered from my fever. Then I wept. REST! my family yells. But how can I rest, I scream back at them, how can I be still when a billionaire dictator is dismantling libraries, destroying books, in New York City?!

Interfering in the right to protest should be treason and those that engage in interference of public protest, including bloomberg, should be charged with treason.

Who said Money can't buy (blank)? Ever since Bloomberg had the election term changed just for himself to be re-elected for a 3rd term, I've become completely unsupportive of him. Shame on our community leaders in which we have elected into office, who allowed this injustice to happen. Our government is not about the people anymore, it's about thier earmarks and how much money they can stuff in their deep pockets. Lets send a meesage to Bloomberg and everyone else in politics via Washington...we are mad as hell and we are simply not taking it anymore.

Because no one is above the law and this country is rapidly regressing to a state of disregard for individual rights not seen since before the rule of Henry II in Britain in the 12th century.
