Repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) Now

    1. Sponsored by

      Human Rights Campaign

Every day, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) denies real protections to tens of thousands of Americans in legally recognized same-sex marriages including Social Security survivors' benefits, equal treatment under U.S. immigration laws, the right to take leave to care for a spouse, and more.

President Obama has decided that his administration will no longer defend DOMA in court. But Republican leaders have stepped in with a plan to waste precious time and resources defending the hateful law in court.

It's time to end DOMA once and for all. Legislation to repeal DOMA has been introduced in the House and your representative's support is crucial. It's up to us to get it across the finish line. Raise your voice – send a message below to your senators and representative today.

The separation of church & state was the principal by which our great country was founded. If we can no longer abide by them, then it's time for leadership to step out of the way. Please begin acting in the best interests of THE PEOPLE and not your pockets.

The Defense of Marriage Act is a clear violation of the U.S. Constitution. It infringes on the Tenth Amendment, which gives the states powers that are not specifically reserved for the federal government, and the Full Faith and Credit Clause, which requires that an action recognized in at least one state be recognized in all fifty states. For this reason and others, I strongly oppose the Defense of Marriage Act.

Why don't you let LOVING couples get married and be happy! If you want to defend marriage, stop Kim Kardashian! She is making a mockery of traditional marriage vows, not loving same sex partners! What are you so afraid of? How does MY marriage have ANY effect on yours? The only way you know what is going on in my bedroom is if you are peeping, and that would make YOU the pervert! Stay out of my life and let me be happy and married! Good Grief!
