Remove Todd Akin from the House Science Committee!

Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) in his remarks regarding rape and pregnancy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fdisTOKom5I) has demonstrated that legitimate science, which long ago debunked this myth about how pregnancy occurs, is less important to him than his theological beliefs.
Further, he has shown that he is willing to jeopardize the lives and welfare of American women while disregarding science and modern medicine.
We, the undersigned, respectfully request that Todd Akin be removed from the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. In the 21st century, a crude anti-science propagandist like Todd Akin does not belong on the committee that makes decisions that effect the future of American Scientific Achievement.

While I wish for people to have freedom to practice their own religion, it is truly frightening to see a legislator who dismisses rational, well-accepted science on the basis of his personal beliefs, and worse yet, is in a position to have those beliefs intrude on the rational function of government. I deeply oppose Mr. Akin's membership on this committee.

It would benefit the people of the U.S. greatly if, before a person is appointed to the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, they were required to pass a 6th grade test on material relevent to this position.

In no way, shape, or form should a proven ignoramus of this caliber even be allowed to serve in government. To think that he was even allowed on the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology in the first place is an embarrassment to America.
