In 1977, the General Assembly called for the annual observance of 29 November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (resolution 32/40 B). On that day, in 1947, the Assembly adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine (resolution 181 (II)).

This year, as part of the annual observance, please remember to think of Palestine, and the unfulfilled promise - to establish a Jewish AND a Palestinian state in the Holy Land.

Gaza remains under siege. Israel is blockading the Strip to pressure Hamas to clamp down on the violence. The violence began during the American elections, when Israeli troops invaded Gaza, killing some fighters there in an effort to limit tunnel...

if you own a house and oneday you wake up and find that another person  decided to takeover your house...what would you do? oh wait...not only this...he has a gun and a knife, kills a few of your family members... and threatens to kill you if you protest...he also starves you to death...prison you in the storage room and if you are not happy with that you are free to leave your house and go find another place to stay at....fair? normal? easy to forgive and forget? i really dont think so...

In your line of thoughts, the US should return all Texas to the Mexicans, and Louisiana to the French, and we can go forever with all the lands that different countries have won in wars, and we would never finish.

The solution is to accept 2008 reality and go forward from here, and find a solution that takes care of the needs and issues of the population that lives in the area, as israelis and the palestinians, in a peaceful manner.

And about the tragic situation of poverty the palestinians live in you should complain to their government they have one, you know? All their tragedy is not their neighbor's fault.

      @ mezaan-
the thing about israel though is that it had no right to do that...they took it during war and refused to give it back, even though the UN said they had to...they refused because claimed that they took the land for their own protection and even though they no longer need it for that purpose they havent given it back...they were supposed to only be recognized as a nation under the boundaries shown in the pictures above but they refused to give the land back and no one questioned it because theyre a US ally and the US couldnt do anything about it because we have so many jewish people here who would be appalled, plus we'd lose an important ally in the middle the israelis oppress the palestinians...many of the palestinians are living in ruins with no electricity or running water...

I think its funny that you associate the word "propose" to a nation that is already established by international merits. Israel has already declared independence and is a ful-fledged democratically elected and politicallly recognized country. And it's also ridiculous to expect palestanians to make concessions after their "Sovereignity is Stolen" from them.
