      Atlanta, GA

Currently, Bernabe Guadalupe Hernandez (A#: 200.27.7028) in under the custody of ICE at Stewart Detention Center facing deportation and being denied bond. After a night out with friends, Bernabe was stopped and arrested while his friends, among them the grandson of the Sheriff at Long County, were merely ticketed.

Bernabe arrived in the United States at the age of four. He has no living relatives in his place of birth, nor does he have any recollections of his very brief stay there. Being raised in Georgia for the almost 16 years of his life, Bernabe graduated May 2010 with a 3.5 GPA. He also played right tackle defense at the Long County High School Football Team and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class.

Bernabe had hopes of continuing his higher education and becoming an engineer. He wanted to attend Armstrong Atlantic University and while he was offered several scholarships,  because of his status, he could not accept them.

We, the undersigned duly asked that ICE exercises prosecutorial discretion in Bernabe's case and be allowed to remain in the United States according to the Morton Memo issued on June 17th. Bernabe Guadalupe Hernandez is DREAM Act Eligible Student whom should be allowed to pay bond and release from the Custody of ICE at Stewart Detention Center.

      > i dont know him at all,,

but if he's hard working, good kid, and good student,,

then i think he should be allowed to stay and finish his studies,,

also he came to the so called "Land of Opportunity" for a better life,,

if we are the country that believes in Equality and Justice for all,,

then we should actually give him the Opportunity, rather than treating him like he is not worth the time or day,,

i know many people that are very excellent students, and would love the chance to study here,,

so i vouch to ICE not to deport this hard working kid,,

and as for the Congress, please pass the DREAM Act, so that many student like Bernabe can be able to study here..

with this being said i proudly sign this petition.

President Obama has said that he does not want to detain and deport those who are potentially eligible for the DREAM Act. It is critical in this election year that President Obama's words be put into action.

I met with Bernabe at Stewart Detention Center in December for a visiting period and he is an exceptional person. He has been here practically his entire life and this country is his home.
