Allow Food Trucks in Public Parking Spots in Downtown Raleigh.

    1. Petition by

      Logan King

Raleigh is an amazing emerging city and one of the only in the U.S. that doesn't allow food trucks to park in public parking spots. Food trucks are insanely popular right now and should be a consistent part of the downtown Raleigh lunch and dinner scene.

Why shouldn't local business owners and food truck owners to be able to obtain a permit to allow food trucks to park in public parking spots? We shouldn't have to to shut the entire street down to grab some delicious street fair.  A permit would still allow the Raleigh City Council to regulate the locations and occurrence of these local small businesses.

Please consider allowing food trucks in Public Parking Spots in Downtown Raleigh. Currently they are only allowed on private property or at "special events" that close down the street. Food trucks should be able to obtain permits to park in public parking spots if they follow the city's regulations that are already in place! Please let the Raleigh City Council know how you feel about this issue.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

Rodeos help increase acceptance of food trucks in Raleigh

With the third installment of a 10-block food truck rodeo coming Sunday, downtown Raleigh is growing more comfortable with the mobile eateries. Some businesses - wary of food trucks in the past - are now calling for looser rules to make the trucks a more common sight in the city center.

food trucks should be able to sell their wares whereever and whenever they want to. it will drive more people to come downtown and then more commerce will help all the stores that are located downtown.

I am vegetarian and hot dogs don't do it. We should have the option on the street to eat from more veg friendly food trucks.
