EVERY STUDENT HAS A RIGHT TO A PUBLIC EDUCATION WITHOUT FEAR. Here is Bryson's story. . . Boy is bullied, assaulted and injured at school for the second time. School officials do nothing about it.
That is until the parents of the bullied 13 year old called and filed a police report. This is the second police report they have filed on behalf of their son Bryson who is 13 years old and who has been a victim of bullying and assault during this school year. Bryson was assaulted in November at Rucker Stewart Middle School in Gallatin, Tennessee when four students ganged up on Bryson in the locker room holding him by the neck, and beating Bryson with a leather belt. Bryson suffered bruises to his back, buttocks, hips and neck in the attack. Bryson called home crying, and school officials asked Mike Woods, Bryson’s father, if he wanted to send Bryson back to class or take him home. Mr. Woods took Bryson home, and then he and his wife Kim, went to the police to file charges against the four boys. Only one boy was charged in this case and he was sentenced to six years of probation. Nothing ever happened to the other three boys that were in on the attack. Mr. and Mrs. Woods removed their son and his brother from Rucker Steward Middle school and had their boy’s attend Joe Shafer Middle School in Gallatin, Tennessee, thinking the bullying would end. Bryson confided in his mother this past week that he was being bullied yet again in his new school. Bryson’s pencils, papers were being stolen, and he was being cursed at by three bullies. Today Bryson was assaulted and injured by one of the three boys that have been bullying him. He was chased and hit in the head from behind. He was hit so hard in the head that Bryson began bleeding from his nose and mouth. Bryson was sent to the school nurse, when the school nurse informed Bryson to call his parents and tell them that he fell. When Bryson’s mom questioned him further, Bryson told his mother the bully ran up behind him and hit him in the back of the head so hard he was bleeding from his nose and mouth and he fell down. Mike Woods went to the school to pick up Bryson and talk to the principal. The principal was too busy to talk with Mr. Woods. Mr. Woods then talked with the nurse, when asked about what happened, the nurse told him that Bryson fell. Mr. Woods then told the school nurse that was not what Bryson had told his wife, the nurse then said, “That she wasn’t going to tell him that.” That he was hit by another student that resulted in his injuries. Bryson was taken home and then taken to his doctor for treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Woods called the police and filed yet another report of assault against their son while he was in school. Why is Sumner County Schools ignoring its bullying problem? Why are our children not safe in our schools? Why are school officials not taking this seriously? Why does Bryson have to suffer so much and live in fear just to get an education? You can contact Bryson’s parents Mike and Kim Woods at  Email - woods.1990@yahoo.com

It's assault pure and simple.
We as adults can not hit anyone, these kids who think they can hit another need to be handed over to the justice system, as this one is going to be.
But the schools should not ignore this unlawful assault on their property. We need your signature to send a strong worldwide message to Sumner County Schools that bullying is unacceptable, and its unacceptable in any school.

The Woods family is moving out of Gallatin, due to the inaction of Sumner County Schools on the bullying of Bryson. Good luck family you are in our prayers. Someday schools and this particular school district will have better anti-bullying enforcement and they will regret the trouble they've caused you.

The Australian singer decided to feature Bryson in an upcoming music video for a song about bullying. The new music video, aimed at preventing bullying, will feature Bryson himself. Harrison said he wanted to show Bryson and his brother, Benjamin, tackling one of the most complex things in a young person's life. "They're true survivors of bullying and they're just kids out there trying to have as much fun as they can," said Harrison.Part of the music video was shot at Bryson's house Sunday, featuring Bryson's answers to tough questions about being bullied.Harrison said he hoped his video would bring attention to the problem he said faces too many kids in schools. Hello!

I've started the petition "Barack Obama and Aaron Schock and U.S. Senate: Eradicate US Army Toxic Leadership" and need your help to get it off the ground.

Will you take 30 seconds to sign it right now? Here's the link:

      http://www.change.org/petitions/barack-obama-and-aaron-schock-and-u-s-senate-eradicate-us-army-toxic-leadership

      Here's why it's important:

      To Whom It May Concern,

I was the immediate supervisor for SPC Annzala Pitt at C.Co 225 BSB. In the time that SPC Pitt was part of my squad she encountered numerous difficulties which I believe were entirely due to being mistreated by her senior leadership. When SPC Pitt arrived at 225 BSB she had a medical situation that required attention prior to her deployment to Iraq. When she voiced her concerns to 1LT Riglick not only were her concerns dismissed but her private health information was erroneously released to multiple parties. SPC Pitt filed a complaint for the HIPPA violation against the offending party, 1LT Riglick. A few months later 1LT Riglick was assigned to C.Co as our Platoon Leader. This is undoubtedly the situation that caused SPC Pitt to be labeled as a problem soldier by C.Co leadership. SPC Pitt was not protected from reprisal and was treated badly for the duration of her time with C.Co 225 BSB.

The result of filing her HIPPA complaint against 1LT Riglick was having a stigma placed on her by the very leadership that was supposed to be protecting her. She endured rumors, attacks on her character, and even attempts at discrediting her intellectual capacities. She was even accused of having inappropriate relationships with multiple senior Non-Commissioned Officers by our Platoon Leader 1LT Riglick. SPC Pitt continuously sought only to do her job as a mental health specialist and as her first line supervisor I pushed for her to be moved from the company to the Troop Medical Clinic. When SPC Pitt was sent to the Troop Medical Clinic to preform her duties as a mental health specialist C.Co leadership made sure to let the incoming social worker know what their impression of her was. SPC Pitt then worked with Major Ball, who had already been told she was a problem soldier, and was subsequently treated horribly to include having to undergo a mental health evaluation without provocation.

SPC Pitt requested on numerous occasions to be moved from C.Co 225 BSB to another company, battalion, or division to get out from underneath the stigma placed on her. These requests were heard by our Company Commander, 1SG, Platoon Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Command Sergeant Major, and even Division Command team but nothing was done. Instead of helping the soldier 1LT Riglick and Major Ball ordered me to counsel her for their perceived insubordination. When I disagreed with these orders it was made clear that my military career was also in jeopardy. I was ordered by 1LT Riglick to counsel SPC Pitt for not properly using her chain of command to which, I informed the command that she had done exactly what procedures are outlined. The result of my not counseling her for this was to have my MEDPROS status changed to non-deployable by 1LT Riglick. This retaliation against me for defending SPC Pitt would have ended my career if I had not already been found deployable and fit for duty by the Medical Review Board in 2008.

Despite her outburst which finally concluded her time in C.Co I would still recommend that she be retained by the United States Army. SPC Pitt endured being mistreated for months and still maintained a positive attitude. Her intellectual prowess combined with her willingness to work make her a viable asset. I believe that if SPC Pitt had been able to move to another command away from the toxic leadership of C.Co 225 BSB her military career would have flourished.

      SGT David Trapolsi

Everyone of these school administrators should be fired and charged with crimes... AND thrown in jail. This is disgusting and abusive treatment of a child by adults who are charged and PAID to protect him. File charges against the principal, the teachers, the bullies... Document EVERYTHING. Record conversations. Get signatures on any statements made by the school. Good luck ! I can't imagine what you are going through. Hang tough and don't take any shit from these incompetent deadbeats. - Mike
