Protect Miami-Dade Florida residents from Pitbull Maulings

Florida state legislators Representative Carlos Trujillo and Senator Jim Norman are leading an effort, with the help of Best Friends Animal Society, to undo the laws that keep people safe from pitbull terrier maulings in all of Florida. This law would make pitbull restrictions illegal and eliminate ban in  Miami Dade Florida. They want to make it illegal for all of Florida to have any pitbull restrictions. They use email campaigns with lots of teenagers to flood  representatives will emails and they don't even live here.
Mortality, Maiming and Mauling by Vicious Dogs is a study of animal injuries in hospitals published in the medical journal Annals of Surgery, April 2011. The study  found that you have a more than 2500 times higher chance of dying if attacked by a pitbull instead of a Labrador Retriever. It also found that people are losing a body PART to a pitbull mauling every 4-5 days now.

Even if you threw out 2/3's of all pitbull attacks because of some freak determination that they got the breed wrong, pitbulls would still be the top killer and it is family loved, unabused pitbulls that are mauling people. It does not matter how the dogs are raised, no one can predict which ones will turn and the damage they do is so much more severe than other dogs, the legislator passed a ban to protect people.

These dogs turn on a dime without warning. Pitbull bans are advocated by PETA to protect humans, and pets, and to stop the breed/kill cycle of pitbulls. If you love dogs, keep the ban as it is more humane than allowing backyard breeders and dog fighters flood the area with pitbulls that will be euthanized at the tax payers expense. Pitbull bans are overwhelming effective (see Denver Colorado's stats, or Council Bluffs, Idaho.)

Remember pitbulls don't bite, they maul and kill. The severity of the pitbull dogs attack warrant regulation as an incident with a pitbull is an emergency. You cannot classify it as a simple bite and release dog bite. Dog fighters funnel funds into pitbull advocacy groups because it makes their sport very easy to hide. 50 to 70 percent of all pitbull terriers are voluntarily relinquished by their owner to shelters to be euthanized because people have problems with this breed.

PREVENT PITBULL MAULINGS sign this petition and share widely. Don't let teens from across the country use facebook and twitter to undermine the safety of  residents and tourists. PREVENT PITBULL MAULINGS. Remember these legislators and let them know you are an adult voter and you  will vote them out, not just twitter and tweet, if the laws to protect people from pitbulls are in any way weakened.

Keep people and their pets safe. Pit bulls need to be regulated, kept out of incapable hands. It's not their fault they are dangerous, they are expressing the D.N.A. that they have been purposely bred, unfortunately....it expresses itself on HUMANS! Every Five days in the U.S., someone loses a limb, and every 14 days, someone loses a life.
