Protect Marriage in the ACT

    1. Petition by

      FamilyVoice Australia

Marriage in the Australian Capital Territory should continue to refer to a man-woman union – its common law meaning, affirmed throughout Australia in the commonwealth Marriage Act 1961. Only man-woman unions have the potential to create the next generation with both male and female role models. Studies show that children are safest by far when raised by their two natural married parents.

The so-called ACT Marriage Equality Bill 2013, which purports to provide for “marriages between 2 adults”, would undermine the institution of marriage. It should be rejected.

God instituted marriage. He also created people. Therefore as the Creator He knows how His creation works the best. It is for our benefit as a whole and that of children that the Marriage Act remains as a man-woman union.

To change Marriage doesn't include others, it reduces the value to those already married.

Marriage is a God-given command, it is not for man to change. It is a place where life is born, where true commitment is made. Anything less weaken society
