Keep Your Promise to Stop Dangerous People From Buying Guns

President Obama called on Washington to come together in the aftermath of the Tucson shooting and fix our broken background check system. Sadly, nothing has come of his bold words. And while we’ve waited on Congress to implement his commonsense plan to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people, another 14,000 Americans were murdered with guns.

That’s why I joined with 14 other Tucson survivors and family members to ask the President to meet with us to discuss how,  together, we can put an end to such senseless tragedies -- and we need your help to make sure he accepts our invitation.

Please read our open letter to President Obama, then add your name to strengthen our request for a meeting with Tucson survivors and families.

Join me and 14 other Tucson survivors and family members in signing our open letter to the President.

Your support means so much to all of us.

Controls MUST come from the federal level. Just look at the crazy response to Tucson from our AZ GOP legislature - mandating guns everywhere!!

Guns kill - full stop. A nd we don't need them in the hands of any schmuck who manages to buy one, legally or illegally. Look what happened to Trayvon Martin, shot by a guy with a legal gun and permit - shot for being black while walking. Multiply that hateful paranoid stupidity by 10 when you factor in criminals, and you have the Wild West all over again.

      President Obama,

Out of respect for those who own and use guns for a valid reason, like hunting, I still want you to sign a bill for more gun control. Our cities are out of control. No one needs a semi-automatic weapon. Even if some radicals want a revolution, it's not going to be won with guns but with a huge a population of peaceful people showing up to physically to demand change. Let's get real and pragmatic and figure out a way of keeping guns away from the black market.

Get some bright high school and college kids of all backgrounds in a think tank and come up with some real solutions. Politicians have too much at stake.

      Respectfully, Linda Eichwald
