As outlined in the below New York Times article, Stephanie George is serving a life sentence without parole for possession of crack cocaine. This case exemplifies the appalling lack of justice we unfortunately have in the United States. Please read about her case in the article and sign.

My heart goes out to Stephanie George, I've lost a child to suicide and to live a life without your children is Heart throbbing torture. This is unjust.May God rest upon the hearts of everyone that is involved in her case. Free her!

Reading Ms. George's case makes me absolutely sick, and is a clear indication that the judicial system in America is broken and far from what close to the image that we as Americans would like to portray. It breaks my heart to know that this woman is sitting in jail away from her children who need her, because her children's father gave more information than she did. The disconnect that the system seems to have from real life, is disheartening and disgusting. This is a clear example of the chain effect. How can we say that we as Americans believe in the family unit and we have no common sense when it comes to cases like these. While I do agree that a mistake was made on her part, I do not agree a life sentence was suitable for this offense and I am ashamed to be called American when I read cases like this one. I am disappointed.

You can't use non-violent "mules" as corporate cash-cows, stealing their future and disrupting children. HSBC too big to fail/jail, but so venal/callous, in comparison.
