Christopher Herrick: There are now signs that warn drivers of the pedestrian crossing as well as a painted line to stop behind. Thanks to everyone who signed the petition!

Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in NE Portland is the busiest 4 lane road in the area and it features a number of dangerous, unpainted crosswalks. From my office window I have witnessed dozens of accidents involving these crosswalks and I'm tired of doing nothing while people are in danger of being hurt or killed, especially when all that's necessary to stop it is a few lines of paint.

My daughter lives just 2 blocks away from that area. It needs a crosswalk marking to make it safe for her and her little son who will be entering this world May 2013.

I bike commute through this very same area and have personally had several close calls with cars failing to yield. - AG
